The abusive actions from a dating partner happen when they try to maintain power over the other. It can be physical, verbal, and/or emotional. In order to keep yourself protected, it’s important to recognize the signs of dating violence.
Your partner gets upset when you spend time with friends and/or family.
Follows you to your home, school, or work.
Forces you to be sexually physical or take sexual photos without your consent.
They threaten to hurt themselves or you if you don’t do what they want.
They are overly critical of you and try to control how you dress, what you do, and who you talk to.
